The holidays are all about groups of friends and family getting together and spending time with each other. We’ve put together a list of some fun group activities that can be done in and around Windsor-Essex throughout the month of December 2022.

So let’s get this list started!

Jump In On A Detroit Dive Bar Tour

On Friday, December 9, we’ll be setting off on our final D-Tour of 2022!

These wildly popular tours throw you onto a magical school bus (complete with karaoke) and swings you through 3 of the Motor City’s grungiest, diviest watering holes to imbibe.

Don’t bother asking where we’re stopping. It’s a surprise.

The WindsorEats D-Tour, (get it? detour?) will allow easy access for you to visit some iconic local hangouts in Detroit without the need to drive, allowing you time to simply focus on just having a good time.

Tickets to the WindsorEats D-Tour quickly!  The tour will start at 6:30pm and bring you back to Windsor at approximately 11pm. When guests return, they’ll be dropped back off at WindsorEats where drinks and food will still be served up.

Guests must be 21 and over to attend and have a valid passport. The D-Tour does not include beverages or food in the ticket price. We recommend bringing cash in US currency.

Please note that the United States requires full vaccination to enter so be ready to show proof of vaccination if requested.

Tickets are $42 per person and can be purchased here.

Also on December 9, Walkerville Brewery is bringing back Black Magic Culinary Creations for a special holiday edition of their Bites n’ Beers!

WindsorEats’ first Be A: Sushi Maker, a part of the Be A Maker series, takes place on Wednesday, December 14, with more classes available in January.

During the 2.5 hour class, you will learn the principles and techniques that go into making sushi. Chef Frank Hasiak of Salt Sushi will share his 20+ years of sushi making experience in a fun and interactive environment.

Throughout the class you will enjoy each of the four rolls you make, as well as indulge in other dishes from Salt Sushi.

During the class you’ll:

Looking for something to do as the sun goes down? On Thursday, December 15, Art Windsor Essex (formerly the Art Gallery of Windsor) will be open late from 5pm to 9pm for AWE at Night.

It’s an evening that features art activities, community conversations, food and beverage as well as lively entertainment.

Admission is Free. Attendees can make a monetary contribution to AWE or donate non-perishable items to support CBC’s Sounds of the Season. All non-perishable donations will be donated in support of the Windsor-Essex Food Bank Association.

At 6pm, Curator Spencer Montcalm will shed some light on AWE’s permanent collection during a flashlight tour of Restored Treasures Part 2. Use your flashlight and uncover the hidden secrets behind AWE’s treasures and learn what happens behind the scenes at AWE.

After you can then head up to the third floor for music, food and drinks.

Friday Night Trivia

WindsorEats will begin hosting Friday Night Trivia beginning December 16, 2022, at 8pm and hosted by none other than Mack Flash.

We wanted to add an extra level of fun to our Fridays that allow people to have a great night out without getting too wild and crazy. A trivia night struck the perfect balance to head out on a Friday night, enjoy some of our much talked about cocktails and our nachos, and say you did something rather than sitting on your sofa and staring blankly at a wall wondering about the days you were the master of the weekend.

Teams must consist of a maximum of 6 people. At the end of the night, each member of the victorious team will receive a $15 gift card that can be redeemed on any WindsorEats experience (think tours and cooking classes).

So, think you’ve got the perfect amount of useless knowledge in your brain to win? Come prove it!

Crawl to 4 Different Bars For Drinks

Join us for our version of a holiday pub on the Crawl of Carollers!

Jingle all the way to 4 locations on Windsor’s Via Italia with WindsorEats. However, before we can go inside each stop, we’ll need to spread some yuletide cheer by singing a carol outside the door to gain approval for entry.

It’ll be a fun, raucus way to crawl into the holidays. We strongly encourage holiday costumes, with the best single and group costumes winning prizes!

Tickets are $10 to participate and solely includes participation. Food and beverages are purchased separately.
