The WindsorEats Food Hall is Windsor, Ontario’s only food truck lot, and it’s the ultimate destination for foodies and fun-seekers alike!
Located at 400 Erie Street East, this lively spot in the heart of the city brings together amazing eats from around the world. Whether you’re a die-hard foodie or just looking for a fun new hangout, here are 10 things you’ll love about this tasty hotspot. Get ready to munch, sip, and have a blast at the WindsorEats Food Hall!
1. The Food, Of Course!
How can you talk about a food hall and not mention the food?!
With food trucks like Rico Taco offering Mexican (omg the birria tacos!), Kaeru Snack Bar doing Japanese street food, and Dosa Mosa offering up Indian, the options are plentiful when it comes to decided what to eat.
WindsorEats also regularly hosts popups from other chefs, restaurants, and food trucks, adding to the already gluttonous appeal of the offerings.
2. The Cocktails, Especially The Margaritas
Best. Margaritas. Ever…..ever!!! And while the WindsorEats Food Hall has become known for the 30+ margaritas that we update on our ever changing menu, the other cocktails are something special, too.
While the classic margarita is by far the best seller, our Strawberry Shortcake margarita is right up there, too.
The approach is casual done with quality, from premium products to homemade syrups and ingredients. We’ve got our own technique for making our mojitos that just makes your tastebuds sing and a lineup of boozy lemonades for those looking for something sweeter.
We also introduce new cocktails regularly, like an Italian Greyhound, a Carajillo, and others AND you can take our margaritas to go!
3. The Flights
Did we mention that we offer our margaritas, mojitos, and boozy lemonades in flights? We do!
The WindsorEats Food Hall was the first establishment in Windsor to offer up cocktail flights, and they’ve been a massive hit.
Each flight is 4 smaller versions sent to your table in a cute wood tray. So, if you’re indecisive and can’t figure out which margarita to order, you get them all! You really can have your cake and eat it, too!
4. The Patio
Oh boy, the patio! Windsor’s largest patio is an absolute gem. With plenty of seating, games, and a gorgeous mural by the talented artist Denial, as the backdrop, it really is a patio like no other.
5. The Boozy Brunch
Boozy Brunch is a vibe. Happening every Sunday on the patio, each of the trucks on the lot offer up brunch options to go along with the bottomless spritzes offered up at the bar and house music being spun by Justin James and friends.
It’s a fun and unique brunch experience in Windsor that’s all about those day drinks.
6. The Happy Hour
Speaking of drinks, it’s always nice when you can get them at a great price. Every Thursday and Friday from 5pm to 7pm, WindsorEats offers Happy Hour specials on the drink menu which are fan-freakin-tastic.
$4 off cocktails and $2 off beers.
Not too shabby!
7. The Murals
If you didn’t know, the WindsorEats Food Hall is located within the Electric Avenue Art Alley, a collection of over a dozen pieces of art and murals created by artists from around world, providing a great photo opportunity.
The name, Electric Avenue in honour of Waffles Electric, a now defunct business located at the location of the alleyway and Erie Street East, which is now the home to the WindsorEats Food Hall. The murals, most created as part of the Free For All Walls Festival, are located around the entire block and are within what is also known as the historic McDougall Street Corridor.
8. The Craft Beer Selection
The focus and goal of the WindsorEats Food Hall is still to promote local businesses, and the beer menu reflects that, too!
The beer menu, and it’s a fairly large one at that, offers either local or Ontario craft beers from little known or hard to get breweries.
It’s a great way to up your Untapped game.
9. All The Different Events & Live Music
With a patio so huge, it’d be ridiculous not to host events and mini festivals on the regular.
As cliche as it sounds, there’s literally something for everyone. From hosting the Mexican Village during Carrousel of Nations to an East Coast Kitchen Party to a Caribbean Night to a daytime electronic music festival, the WindsorEats Food Hall hosts it all.
10. The Playlist
The amount of compliments we receive about our playlist makes us proud.
It’s an ever growing and adapting playlist that is now over 40 hours long. Also, if you’re a fan of it yourself, just follow it on our Spotify profile to listen to at home while you dream about our margaritas.
Side note: we make a playlist for every event and tour we host to help get people in the mood.
