WindsorEats is introducing a new beer event to Windsor, Ontario, that will showcase exclusive one-off beers in a competition that gives attendees the opportunity to vote for their favourite.
This unique event will pit brewer vs. brewer as their creative and exclusive one offs go head to head in a battle to be named Master of the Brewniverse!
Originally scheduled in April 2020, the event was cancelled due to, well…we all know why.
WHAT’S SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS EVENT?
The one-day event, called Masters of the Brewniverse, is a celebration and friendly competition of one-off beers that are exclusive to the event, giving breweries the opportunity to showcase their creativity and win bragging rights. There will be two awards handed out: People’s Choice and the Master of the Brewniverse which will be decided by a panel of judges.
Breweries will be vying to take home the title of Master of the Brewniverse.
“This event will be a great opportunity for the brewers to jump back on their pilot systems and experiment with new recipes,” says Dwayne Grondin, co-owner and brewer at GL Heritage. “It creates a feeling of excitement and anticipation of new beers for all of our followers. Having all the local breweries participate in this event only grows our regions reputation of a solid craft beer destination.”
The nature of the event means that beers will be limited, so it’s a unique opportunity for craft beer lovers to get away from the same old and try something truly different. However, not only are the beers in limited quantity, so are the tickets.

There will be 8 breweries taking part to take home the title. They include

IS THERE A BEER LIST FOR THE EVENT?

BEERS WILL BE IN LIMITED QUANTITY
The exclusive beers will be very limited in availability at the event. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Which means if you see one you like when we release our list, make a plan of attack to be certain you hit up the ones that really interest you first.
WHEN WILL THE EVENT TAKE PLACE?
Taking place Saturday, June 11, 2022 at WindsorEats’ new space on 400 Erie Street East, there will be two sessions throughout the day. Session One will take place from 12:00pm to 4:00pm and Session Two will run 6:00pm to 10:00pm. The winners will be announced at Session Two.
The aim of the event is to be a fun competition to showcase the creativity of your brewers and potentially form a camaraderie and do our part in strengthening the craft beer industry through potential partnerships and collaborations.
Keep in mind the event is a partially/mostly outdoor event.
SO HOW DO YOU GET YOUR TICKETS?
First, due to the limited nature of the tickets, we recommend getting yours ASAP in our online shop. Session One tickets are $47 and Session Two tickets are $50. Each ticket includes 16 samples (5oz. each). That’s 80oz of beer for an event themed after an 80’s cartoon. It just seems appropriate to also be cranking the best hits from the 80’s throughout the event.
ASIDE FROM THE BEER, IS THERE A THEME?
Masters of the Brewniverse? He-Man? It’s 80’s themed, obviously, and attire is welcome and encouraged. So, tease that hair and bust out the shoulder pads.
WILL THERE BE ENTERTAINMENT?
We’ll be playing 80’s music all night long…..all night……all night long….
HOW DO I VOTE FOR MY FAVOURITE BEER?
When you enter the event, not only will you be given your 16 drink tickets, you’ll also be given a golden ticket for you to write your favourite beer on to then place within the ballot box for people’s choice.
