If you love trying new, creative craft beers before anyone else, you’re going to love the Masters of the Brewniverse competition.

The one-day event, called Masters of the Brewniverse, is a celebration and friendly competition of one-off beers that are exclusive to the event, giving breweries the opportunity to showcase their creativity and win bragging rights. There will be two awards handed out: People’s Choice and the Master of the Brewniverse which will be decided by a panel of judges.

 

First, due to the limited nature of the tickets, we recommend getting yours ASAP in our online shop. Session One tickets are $47 and Session Two tickets are $50. Each ticket includes 16 samples (5oz. each). That’s 80oz of beer for an event themed after an 80’s cartoon. It just seems appropriate to also be cranking the best hits from the 80’s throughout the event.

Here’s a look at the list of beers each brewery will be hoping gets them named the Master of the Brewniverse!

 

BANDED GOOSE BREWING COMPANY

Betty and Veronica: Jet black blonde ale with activated charcoal.

Balanced Breakfast: Smoothie sour with strawberry, banana, granola and yogurt.

Grapefruit Diet: Grapefruit radler with hibiscus.

Fluppy Dogs: All they can tell us so far is that it’ll be a smoothie sour.

CRAFT HEADS BREWING CO.

Juicy Boi IPA, West Açai’d: This member of the group has notes of bubble gum and mixed berries with an earthy finish. The unique mouthfeel envelops the tastebuds and leaves a smooth transition to the next track.

Juicy Boi IPA , Easy B- Berry: This member of the Boi’s had a refreshing and inviting taste of fresh berries with a minty herbal twist. The finish is a tart and bitter punch leaving you craving the next episode.

Juicy Boi IPA , Ex-Pressed Yourself Prickly Pear: This Boi expresses himself to the full capabilities, with notes of watermelon and vanilla balanced with the mild bitter backbone that holds the group together”

GL HERITAGE BREWING COMPANY

Snowball: White Stout, notes of chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Remember the grade school dances in the 80’s when they would call “snowball” and you’d switch partners? Well we’ve called snowball with the dark malts and switched them for lighter malts.

Local IPA: Light IPA, notes of citrus and grapefruit all while staying at only 125 calories and 3.4g of carbs per 16oz can.

JAKE’S WINDSOR BREW/THE BEERDED DOG

Strawberry Shortcake Pastry Sour: Sweet strawberry flavour with vanilla and lactose, finishing with a sour note.

Vanilla Ice Ice Latte: An oatmeal stout with vanilla, coffee and a little dance mix.

Jungle Juice Summer Shandy: American style wheat beer that is infused with local strawberries and blackberries.

Cucumber Mojito Lager: Lager based beer infused with cucumbers, mint and lime

Kingsville Mule: A Moscow mule but in beer form. Ginger, mint and lime

Michelada: Lager based beer infused with tomato juice and spices

Malibu Barbie Milkshake IPA: Hop in your pink Corvette and head down to Malibu so you can meet Barbie for beers on the beach. This coconut, guava milkshake IPA is totally radical.

Skeletor’s Guilty Pleasure: Even the forces of evil have their guilty pleasures. Skeletor is no different. One sip of this purple elixir and he was caught in its spell. Maybe Evil Lyn had something to do with it????
