A Windsor-Essex farm is collecting your discarded pumpkins and donating to local food banks in exchange.
Wagner Orchards & Estate Winery wants you to drop off your pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns. They’ll be using the gourds as healthy treats for their cattle, pigs, and chickens. For every pumpkin you bring out to the farm, we will be donating 1lb of ground beef to our local food banks!
The farm is asking that you drop off your pumpkins in the bin in front of the bakery, but, that you also please remove any candles and toothpicks before doing so.
While you’re there, we recommend picking up some hard apple cider (it’s tough to decide between original and cherry), apple pies and a few packs of pepperettes.
