When you win a national award for your Mexican chorizo sausage, you better believe you’re celebrating Cinco de Mayo with some good eats.
Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Company, located in the Walkerville neighbourhood of Windsor, Ontario, has filled his shops fridges and freezers with creations that are a perfect match for Cinco de May.
Since he’s only open on Saturdays and Sundays, if you’re looking to enjoy some of their Mexican flavours on May 5, this weekend is your last chance to stock up.
Robbie has made 3 different types of his chorizo available: his original award-winning chorizo, the Chorizo Verde, and the Chorizo Especial Prima.
In addition to that, he’s also whipped up 3 different sauces that make compliment the sausages perfectly and will colour up your meal just like the Mexican flag.
First, there’s the Salsa Verde which is made with roasted tomatillos, green onions, cilantro, roasted poblanos, avocado and lime juice.
The second sauce is an incredible fresh tasting Lime Crema made with crema, lime rind and lime juice.
Finally, he’ll also have available a Mango Salsa made with mango, red bell pepper, green onions, orange juice, cilantro, lime and habanero.
Head in and stock up on your favourites and get all 3 sauces, because they’ll only be available in limited amounts this weekend.
