I’ve got my mind on some tacos and some tacos on my mind.
Everybody loves a good taco! So, to celebrate National Taco Day, we thought we’d put together a list for you to try out some of our favourite tacos in and around Windsor, Ontario.
Go ahead. Attempt to try them all today. We dare you.
THE GRAND CANTINA

The Grand Cantina is a trendy taco and tequila restaurant offering 13 different tacos to choose from. More modern culinary take. Order the O.D.B. It’s filled with barbacoa, queso, pickled onion, roasted corn, corn chips and a tequila lime crema.
EL COMAL

We talked before about how great we think El Comal is. Just the feeling alone of walking up the driveway to the back door of the house is worth it. Go with the classic: beef.
JOE SCHMOE’S

Every knows about Joe Schmoes for their burgers. Now, after we accidentally posted a photo of a “phallic” looking cauliflower taco of theirs, they’re talking about the tacos, too.
WALKERVILLE EATERY

Located in the historic neighbourhood of Walkerville in Windsor, we recommend heading out to Walkerville Eatery to try their duck tacos.
BEACON ALE HOUSE

The perch from the lakes surrounding our region is unreal. If you can’t decide what to order at Beacon Ale House, order the perch tacos
TACOS TONY

Leamington is a must-visit destination for any taco enthusiast. Tacos Tony is probably the one that first really got the town noticed for their tacos. Order the Lingua.
LA HACIENDA

Just off the main strip in Leamington, La Hacienda offers authentic cuisine from the Chihuahua region of Mexico. The carnitas are the most popular tacos on their menu.
BILLY’S TAPHOUSE

If you’re heading out of the city on your way to try the tacos in the county, make a quick stop at Billy’s Taphouse in Essex for their perch taco.
THIRSTY BUTLER

The Thirsty Butler has a selection of four tacos to choose from: pulled pork, veggie, shrimp and tuna. Always best to go for their Taco Tuesday specials as it’s a great deal.
