The award-winning Drinks of Walkerville tour is back and revamped, once again ready to show the world why Windsor, Ontario is known as Whiskytown Canada.

Even after having won awards and having the Drinks of Walkerville named an Ontario Signature Experience, we’re always looking to make improvements and enhance an experience for guests. As a result, WindsorEats has created a brand new route and offering a new, unique stop on the tour.

Say, “Whisky!”

As always, the first stop of the tour will be to North America’s largest distillery, the home of J.P. Wiser’s, where we’ll go through the distillery itself. After getting hands on, pulling up and tasting mash from the vats while learning all about the whisky making process, guests head inside for a tasting of 4 whiskies. Before departing, guests are then invited for an exclusive treat where they can pull their own fifth sample from a barrel of a special, limited edition whisky.

From there, we bring our guests to the new addition to the tour which is yet another exclusive treat to the Drinks of Walkerville. We’ll step inside the private members club, The Windsor Club, where we’ll try out some cocktails and a snack. While doing so, we’ll also get a unique view of the front of the Canadian Club Brand Centre facing the river and currently closed to the public.

After cocktails, we’ll meander through the historic company town of Walkerville, learning the history, architecture and folklore association with the town that Canadian Club built. Our stroll through history will then lead us to Walkerville Brewery where we conclude the Drinks of Walkerville with tasting several beers brewed inside one of the original Hiram Walker rack houses which once stored whisky barrels.

It’s a fun, unique and tasty tour through the history and flavours that gave Windsor, Ontario it’s moniker of Whiskytown Canada.
