The 2019 Whiskytown Festival takes place this Saturday and will be the place to be for whisky lovers. But whisky neat won’t be the only beverages available. Whisky-based cocktails will have their moment to shine at the festival as well. Here are 5 cocktails that are being served at Whiskytown Festival that you should sip on:

SOUTHERN SPRITZ

Maiden Lane Wine & Spirits give you this amped-up riff on the trendy Aperol spritz that is mildly sweet and oh so refreshing with notes of bitter orange, orange blossom and vanilla.

CANADIAN MOJITO

Canadian Mojito by WindsorEats.

WindsorEats is offering a refreshing take on a rum=-based classic. Replaces the traditional rum with Lot 40 Canadian rye whisky and you’ve got yourself a Canadian Mojito. Mint, lime juice, agave syrup and topped with soda water will make this a great drink to have while enjoying the garden party setting.

WHISKY CAESAR

The Pickle Me Elmo Caesar from Walkerville Eatery in Windsor, Ontario.

Walkerville Eatery is bringing their popular whisky-based Caesars to the Whiskytown Festival. If you’ve ever been to the restaurant, you know what we’re talking about. If you haven’t, don’t disappoint us by not grabbing one at the festival.

THE TORONTO

Maiden Line Wine & Spirits is also serving The Toronto, a cocktail made with Lot 40 Canadian rye whisky and the infamous Italian amaro, Fernet-Branca. It’s bold and spicy with a mildly bitter, herbal bite.

MONKEY MAI TAI

Rum is replaced again in this classic cocktail with a twist. In its place, Monkey Shoulder Scotch is used as the base in this fruity and fun creation by The Blind Owl.

**BONUS DRINK**

PICKLEBACK

I know what you’re thinking: “WTF is a pickleback? Is it a Nickleback tribute band that changes the lyrics to be about pickles?” We can only dream. Instead, it’s the next best thing. Not technically a cocktail, it’s a shot of whisky followed by a shot of pickle brine. No lie. Don’t knock it until you try it. Our whisky of choice will be none other than locally made Lot 40 rye whisky. You can find it at the WindsorEats cocktail booth.

Keep in mind, the images above are of the cocktails in their natural settings (the businesses). They may not look exactly the same on the festival site and serve in different cups, but the deliciousness will still be as great. The 2019 Whiskytown Festival will be showcasing whiskies from across the globe and takes place August 10 at 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Tickets are available online for $30.
