The 2018 Windsor Tweed Ride is finally upon us.

Named one of the top 10 “Things To Do in Windsor-Essex Before You Die” by The Windsor Star, Windsor’s favourite cycling event takes place this Saturday. Tickets are still available in case you’re wondering.

While getting dressed in your fanciest tweed and riding on your bicycle throughout the city is the best part of the Windsor Tweed Ride, here are some other things that will help kick it up a notch this year.

ORDER A MEAL IN ADVANCE

You can pre-order some picnics to enjoy and skip the lines.

Good Neighbour will be the final stop on the ride and usually folks are looking to eat and drink some more while they’re there. To skip the lines, order your picnics in advance for $15 or $18 the same day.

Choices include a items like a Ploughman’s Lunch Box (meat, cheese, bread, a hardboiled egg, pickles and mustard), a pulled chicken salad sandwich with potato salad, a potato and pulled chicken salad, a potato and lentil salad, and even a coconut custard and berries dessert.

THIS BEER IS FOR YOU!

For many ladies and gentlemen on the Windsor Tweed Ride, this may be their first chance to visit the Sandwich Brewing Co. Playing the good hosts they always are, each cyclist will receive a free beer sample upon arrival.

HOT CHOCOLATE

You’ll take a scenic stop along the beautiful Windsor riverfront for an opportunity to refresh and take some photos. While you’re there, the Traveller mobile bar will be offering some hot chocolate for sale to keep you warm and fuzzy inside.

PARTY PARTY PARTY!

Who doesn’t love a good party? Good Neighbour will be the final stop of the day and host of the official Windsor Tweed Ride after party.

There’ll be live music as well as great food and drink to indulge in. There will also be games like giant jenga and corn hole as well as prizes to be won.

You can also order off their regular menu. We recommend trying these 5 dishes.
