Yet another Windsor bartender is showcasing on an international scene how great the drinks in Whiskytown, Canada are.
Ricardo Rodriguez, bartender at The Blind Owl, is one of 10 wild card finalists for the Havana Club Cocktail Grand Prix. The HCCGP has been running since 1996 and is one of the oldest and most prestigious cocktail competitions in the world, hosted in multiple continents and countries.
The finals will take place in Havana, Cuba in June.
Ricardo has always been into Amari and used it as his inspiration for his creation, Athena’s Potion, using two in within the cocktail: Campari and Amaro Nonino, with a muddled orange as well as orange bitters mixed into a base of Havana Club 7.
