Official Tree Lighting and Opening Ceremonies

Join Mayor Drew Dilkens and guest emcees Mike and Lisa from AM 800’s Morning Drive on December 1, 2023, in the Jackson Park Queen Elizabeth II Sunken Gardens for the official tree lighting and opening ceremonies of the festival.

Opening Ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m. sharp.

Yes, dogs are allowed, and regular park rules apply (e.g. dog must be on a leash; please clean up messes, etc.), but we recommend a little extra caution, as the heavy traffic, lively displays and noise can be stressful for some dogs, and dogs can be intimidating for some passersby as well.
