The 2023 Masters of the Brewniverse is beginning to take shape.

The one-day event, called Masters of the Brewniverse, is a celebration and friendly competition of one-off beers that are exclusive to the event, giving breweries the opportunity to showcase their creativity and win bragging rights. There will be two awards handed out: People’s Choice and the Master of the Brewniverse which will be decided by a panel of judges.

Breweries will be vying to take home the title of Master of the Brewniverse.

The nature of the event means that beers will be limited, so it’s a unique opportunity for craft beer lovers to get away from the same old and try something truly different. However, not only are the beers in limited quantity, so are the tickets so get them now.

While more breweries will be announced, here are the first 5 participating in the 2023 Masters of the Brewniverse, taking place on April 29, 2023.

BEERDED DOG

The reigning champion. A panel of judges decided the 2022 Master of the Brewniverse award be handed to the collab between the Beerded Dog and Jake’s Brew for their Vanilla Ice Ice Latte, an oatmeal stout with vanilla, coffee and a little dance mix. They’ll be back this year to fight off the competition gunning for their crown.

CHAPTER TWO BREWING CO.

The winning brewery of the People’s Choice Award is returning. Chapter Two Brewing, which won for their Malibu Barbie coconut guava milkshake IPA, is coming back. Located in Ford City, we’re excited to see if they can one up and take the Master of the Brewniverse crown.

CURED CRAFT BREWING

This will be the Leamington, Ontario, brewery’s first time participating in Masters of the Brewniverse. If you haven’t been following them, they’ve been pumping out some great one offs over the last year or so. We can’t wait to see what they bring to the challenge!

Another first time participant, Frank Brewing Co. will be taking part in the competition. Winners of multiple Ontario and Canadian brewing awards, they’re hoping to take home another award to put on their mantle.

GRAIN & GRIT

This is the first time a non Windsor-Essex brewery is participating in Masters of the Brewniverse. Located in Hamilton, Ontario, we absolutely love the branding (and beer) coming out of this brewery.

IMPERIAL CITY

A hit at the Windsor Craft Beer Festival, Imperial City is the second non-local brewery participating in 2023, coming down to Windsor from Sarnia to try and be named Master of the Brewniverse.
