Forget about mom’s spaghetti, a Windsor, Ontario, brewery has created a unique brew to pay homage to world renowned Detroit rapper, Eminem.
Craft Heads Brewing Company prides itself on staying true to their slogan of being adventurous with their latest beer. Brewed with the black lemons and natural sweetener, the Slim Shandy will get you up on your feet with its tangy acidity and sweet finish.
If you didn’t know, black lemons are actually dried limes, and were miscalled such due to English translation from Arabic. They’re used in the Middle East as a souring agent in chutneys, soups and stews, and even ground into flatbreads. The powder made from black lemons has a sweet-tart flavor that is unique and has no substitute.
After the beer, the next best thing about this release is the can. It features Saint Andrew’s Hall, a music venue in downtown Detroit known as one of the first stages where hip hop and rap legend, Eminem, performed. Of course, there is also a not so subtle nod with an 8 Mile road sign.
