It’s been well known that a case can be made for Windsor being the best place in Canada to get a lager. Local breweries are regularly bringing home awards in the lager category at the Ontario and Canadian brewing awards. Heck, it’s one of the reasons that make this region so great to visit.
With that knowledge in mind, we wanted to help you find a great pint or two across the Windsor region. So let’s start…
PROPER LAGER
Brew

The Proper Lager is the flagship beer of Brew in downtown Windsor. It’s smooth with a floral aroma and light citrus zest and finishes with a gentle hop bitterness. It makes a good entry point for people just getting into craft beers.
PARADISE LAGER
The Grove Brew House

The Paradise Lager is a staple at The Grove Brew House, going back-to-back winning two Canadian Brewing Award bronze medals in 2018 and 2019.
HONEST LAGER
Walkerville Brewery

The Honest Lager from Walkerville Brewery is the locally made lager that started it all. There’s a reason it has become a staple of many pint glasses in and around Windsor. It’s also a bronze medal winner from the 2019 Ontario Brewing Awards.
STRAIGHT UP LAGER
FRANK Brewing

Straight Up Lager by FRANK Brewing Company is brewed to be easy drinking. Crafted with Bohemian Pilsner malts, CaraAmber malts, wheat, and Perle hops, this beer is moderately carbonated and well balanced with a hint of malty sweetness and a likeable lager for any occasion.
COMMON MUTT LAGER
GL Heritage Brewing Company

Known as the California Common, this GL Heritage lager balances a nutty caramel start with a mild citrus finish. This Mutt is as laid back as they come.
