It was to be another quiet night at home. Dinner was on the stove, yada yada yada, I was devouring every item on Rockhead Pub‘s new menu.
Owner, Dave Krndija, a huuuuuuge Seinfeld fan, has revamped their menu for the first time in 9 years and, to our enjoyment, has a decidedly “Seinfeld” touch to it from the ‘Big Salad’ to ‘Fusili Jerry Mac n Cheese’.
Here are 5 of our favourite new menu items on the Rockhead’s new menu:
Garlic Parmesan Mozza Rocks
Fans to Rockhead will be quick to point out that these were already on the new menu, to which I’ll say, “no Mozza Rocks for you!” Which means more for me.
A new recipe and process for making these deservedly places them on this list. A thin, crispy pizza dough outer layer makes way for a soft, gooey and cheesy centre. The dipping sauce has a more decidedly basil touch to it as well. Bravo, Rockhead.
Frank Costanza would definitely approve of this meatloaf. Each bite melts in our mouth and leaves a little bit of heat lingering behind. The portion is huge and also served with a side of gravy, mashed potatoes and corn, but, save the gravy just for the mashed potatoes. The meatloaf is so moist it won’t need any.
A fresh, 1/2lb burger with 40 Creek BBQ pulled pork overtop, baconnaise (yes, bacon mayonnaise), Walkerville Brewery Honest Lager honey mustard and crispy pretzels piled so high you’ll notice it leans to the side a bit, as if it has an overstuffed wallet in its back pocket.
If the pretzels in this burger are making you thirsty, order a Walkerville Brewery Honest Lager to compliment it.
Gibraltar Grilled Cheese
If you’re looking for two really cute girls eating grilled cheese (cheeeeeeeeese!), Rockhead can now be that location. They took their Fusili Jerry Mac n’ Cheese and placed it between two very buttery slices of bread along with their 40 Creek BBQ Pulled Pork.
Mt. Blanc Beef Dip Sandwich
Celebrate like Elaine and Puddy and order the roast beef. This isn’t your prepackaged roast beef sandwich. Rockhead brings in entire slabs of beef and roasts and slices it themselves, a process that takes over 5 hours. Time well spent, as the sandwich is tasty to the nines.
