Come on out to the opening of the Downtown Farmers Market! Shop for fresh, local produce this Friday. June 1 at 10a.m. in the market’s new location at 406 Pelissier Street (under the parking garage).

“We felt the move to the Park and Pelissier location would entice the residents of the many apartment buildings to come and meet our vendors,” explains Judith Veresuk, Executive Director of the DWBIA. “In addition, there is one hour free parking at the Park Pelissier garage for our customers who prefer to come by car.”

The Downtown Windsor Farmers Market will be open Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After that the market will be open every Wednesday through Friday from 10am to 5pm with Saturday hours to be determined based on demand. It will run from June 1 to October 31.

Adding to the vibrancy of our city centre, the downtown market is a place where vendors, farmers and shoppers interact, share ideas and even a recipe or two. Vendors include Hric’s Farms (local produce, honey, sweets), Specialty Bakery, Stella’s Pasta, Rose City Country Market and Just Jeff’s Gourmet Express Meals.

Both local and regional produce will be available, according to the their seasonal availability. And there’s no better way to enjoy fruit or vegetables than by eating them when they’ve been picked at the peak of perfection instead of ripening on a truck while being hauled thousands of miles cross country.
