With spring in full swing, May is the perfect time to gather your crew and dive into all the fun happening at the WindsorEats Food Hall.

Located at 400 Erie Street East in Windsor, the WindsorEats Food Hall has the month loaded with events and experiences to enjoy, whether you’re a foodie, a music lover, or just in the mood for a good time. So, grab your party pants — here are 8 things you don’t want to miss this month!


MAY 3-5: Windsor’s Biggest Cinco de Mayo Party

WindsorEats will once again be hosting Windsor, Ontario’s biggest Cinco de Mayo party!

Come to the WindsorEats Food Hall to enjoy fantastic Mexican food from Friday to Sunday with live Latin bands playing Friday to Sunday evenings. The bar will be serving our popular margaritas, palomas, and more!

On Friday, Sabor Latino Band will hit the stage from 7pm to 10pm. Saturday will see Julian Rodriguez play from 2pm to 5pm, with Grupo Diamante Latin Band following him up from 7pm to 1030pm. Then on Sunday, Transeo will fill the air with their Spanish guitar vibes from 1pm to 3pm with everything being finished up with the return of Sabor Latino Band from 4pm to 8pm.

Rico Taco will be serving special tacos and treats in addition to their popular Birria Tacos and WindsorEats will be selling nachos for everyone to munch on.


MAY 4: Free Tour of Electric Avenue, Windsor’s Newest Art Alley

We’re gonna walk down through Electric Avenue!

Also happening at the WindsorEats Food Hall during all the hoopla that is Cinco is a free tour that’s part of Jane’s Walk Windsor-Essex. Take a walk with WindsorEats through Windsor’s newest collection of murals in the western edge of Via Italia (Erie St. E.) to see the many visually stunning ways artists, both local and internationally renowned, have used the urban landscape as their canvas.

This tour will take you to some of Windsor’s best photo spots and ensure you get the perfect pic while learning all about the artists and their creations, many of which were painted during the 2023 Free For Walls Festival. It’s a great way to explore the city for both tourists and locals alike and you’ll be able to leave with great shots that will give all your friends FOMO.

The 500 meter route takes you to see 15 murals and brings you through Electric Avenue, one of the city’s newest art adorned alleyways, highlighting a side of Windsor many may have never seen before.

The free Electric Avenue tour is from 5pm-6pm and is hosted by WindsorEats as part of the 2024 Windsor-Essex Jane’s Walk.


MAY 10: Detroit Dive Bar Tour

Yep! To celebrate the Habitat for Humanity national conference coming to town, we’re hosting a springtime D-Tour Detroit Dive Bar Tour.

The WindsorEats D-Tour, (get it? detour?) will allow easy access for you to visit some iconic local hangouts in Detroit without the need to drive, allowing you time to focus on a good time.

MAY 10: Friday Night Lights Bike Ride

Also happening on May 10, the brightest, most colourful bike ride in Ontario is coming back, and returning to its roots and will be free to ride in 2024!

Friday Night Lights, a bike ride through Windsor, that has grown exponentially since its humble beginnings in 2014, will have it’s first ride of the season on Friday, May 10.

The concept of the ride is quite simple. Imagine hundreds of colourfully lit bicycles rolling by, bells clacking, as they partake in a pub crawl on two wheels. The pack take up the entire street, sometimes stretching several city blocks at a time, as we visit 2 locations as stops.

So how will it work?

  1. To participate in the ride for free, register in advance so we know how many of our paid guides to schedule. Register for each ride here.
  2. If you didn’t register in advance, the cost to participate will be $5 cash at the door.
  3. When you check in, you will be given a wristband.
  4. The wristband will entitle you to specials or even enter special events. Each ride will be different!

MAY 11: Masters of the Brewniverse

The Masters of the Brewniverse event is taking place on May 11, 2024, and invites breweries to showcase their creativity by submitting one-off beers that are exclusive for the festival. Attendees will also have the power as they get to vote for the People’s Choice award which is handed out alongside a winner that is chosen by a panel of judges to be the Master of the Brewniverse.

All of the beers for Masters of the Brewniverse will be exclusively available at the event.

Masters of the Brewniverse takes place at the WindsorEats Food Hall, located at 400 Erie Street East in Windsor, Ontario. Attendees will receive the opportunity to taste 60oz of beer with each ticket (5oz. servings only of the exclusives) while having the power to vote for the winner of the People’s Choice award.

A judges panel will then select a best in show with the winning brewery named the Master of the Brewniverse! The one-offs in the competition are served as samples only, but, other full beers as well as food and cocktails can be purchased separately. Masters of the Brewniverse will be 80’s themed.

We encourage everyone to make their hair big and bust out the shoulder pads and wear their best 80’s attire. Tickets are $47 and can be purchased at www.windsoreats.com


May 17: Caribbean Night

Get ready to sway your hips and feel the rhythm at WindsorEats’ Caribbean Night party!

Leave your worries behind as you step into a tropical paradise filled with infectious beats and sun-soaked vibes. From the moment you enter, you’ll be greeted by the mesmerizing live performance of steel drums and the enticing aroma of mouth-watering Caribbean cuisine from Stelly’s Cuisine.

Whether you’re sipping on a daquiri, trying your hand at salsa dancing, or simply lounging, this night promises an fun escape. Grab your colorful attire and join us for a night of carefree revelry.


May 18-19: 519 Day PARTY

We’re throwing a celebration of all things Windsor!

The party will include live local music from musicians like Max Marshall, Andrew Macleod, Ryan Yoker, and others. There will also be a local makers market that will include artist Denial, What’s Poppin’ Popcorn, Brand Dead, and more.

A special cocktail menus will feature local beverages as well as 4 signature cocktails designed to highlight four locals we think are pretty snazzy people.

Tattoo artist Heather Thibert will be back inking those onsite who are brave enough to get a Windsor-themed tattoo.

The event is free to attend.


May 24: East Coast Kitchen Party

Put on your Sou’-Wester and tune up your fiddles, because we’re throwing the ultimate East Coast Kitchen Party bash!

We’re bringing the Maritime vibes to you with a shindig that’ll make you feel like you’re dancing on the shores of Peggy’s Cove. Join in on the kitchen ceilidh, where the fiddlers will be playing for you to do a step or two of traditional East Coast square dancing or belt out your favourite sea shanty.

You’ll also be able to register to take part in a Screech-In Ceremony, becoming an honourary Newfoundlander!

So grab your mates and join us for a rip-roaring good time at our East Coast Kitchen Party – where the hospitality is as warm as the Maritime summer sun and the memories are as sweet as a slice of freshly baked apple pie. The event is free to attend and don’t forget your dancing shoes!
