Last winter, The Grove Brewing Company bottled, capped, hand-dropped 500 bottles in wax, and sent them to the bottom of Lake Erie. Now, they’re ready to be purchased.
In early 2023, the Kingsville, Ontario, brewery packed the bottles into iron cages and lowered them 32 feet below by crane. After maturing under ice for 15 weeks, they were raised up, cleaned and starting on November 9, are ready for purchase in an exclusive gift set at the brewery.
Each 750ml bottle of Lake Aged Imperial Stout comes with a 16oz Turin glass with 24k gold imprinting and 1 branded gift box.
The items are not available individually and purchasing the gift set will be the only way to try this beer. If previous one-offs by The Grove are any indication, you’ll have to act fast as their special brews usually sell out within hours.
