The weekend of August 12-14, 2022, is going to be busy and fun in Windsor’s Little Italy.

There won’t be a shortage of things to see and do on Via Italia as a trio of events aim to keep folks entertained on what’s shaping up to be a gorgeous weekend weather-wise.

Let’s take a look at what there is to do.

MARGARITAS & MOJITOS

From Friday through to Sunday, WindsorEats will be hosting a weekend full of Margaritas & Mojitos. We’ve created two dozens variations of our two most popular drinks for guests to choose from.

On Friday, August 12, the Farms Band Association returns (they played at our Mexican Village during Carrousel of the Nations) and hits the stage at 9:30pm as part of our Friday Night Live.

Our Friday Night Lights bike ride begins at 8pm and will return in time to catch part of the live performance.

TOUR DI VIA ITALIA

Tour di Via Italia is back with a new date and day for 2022!

Traditionally held on Labour Day weekend, the race has shifted its dates to Saturday, August 13, 2022.

Now in its 62nd year, the Tour di Via Italia is the oldest historical, international street race in Ontario. Watch racers from all over North America compete for the largest prize purse in Ontario.

You’ll be able to watch the races from anywhere on the course, or take your pick from any one of the fine restaurants and café patios that Erie street has to offer. You could also pop on over to the WindsorEats patio to refresh yourself with one of our margaritas.

ST ANGELA MERICI FESTIVAL

More than just a religious celebration, the festival has partnered with the Tour di Via Italia to provide an entire weekend of activities.

While the race will be the main feature on the Saturday, there will also be live entertainment. Sunday will see more live entertainment, a street soccer tournament, and a wide variety of children’s activities. All of this culminates in the traditional outdoor mass complete with a candlelight procession in which the crowd hoists a statue of St. Angela Merici in the air and carries it through the streets.
