Tropical Hut Philippine Cuisine is making a return to the Outdoor Food Hall this weekend and bringing with them some crave-worthy dishes you definitely need to feast on.

Presented by St. Clair College and the Alumni Association, the Outdoor Food Hall turns Lanspeary Park’s outdoor rink into the city’s largest patio. It features multiple restaurants and chefs all on a single menu and it’s licensed to serve beer and wine, too! Since the rink has a massive canopy overtop, it also protects guests from the summer sun and any rain, offering an all-weather patio.

It’s operating Friday 5-9, Saturday 3-9 and Sunday 3-8. This weekend will showcase Tropical Hut Philippine Cuisine and Smokies BBQ.

To be as safe as possible, the Outdoor Food Hall is a digital, contactless, cashless experience that’s super easy and convenient to eat and drink at.

With all that being said, here are 4 dishes from their menu we think you absolutely need to try:

PORK BBQ SKEWERS

Easily one of the restaurants most popular dishes, and for good reason. You’ll get 2 BBQ pork skewers with either pansit or rice and mango salad.

LECHON KAWALI

This Filipino dish is the crispiest of pork belly served with garlic rice and coleslaw or mango salad.

CALDERETA

If you paid attention last year us raving about the Menudo that Tropical Hut served at the Outdoor Food Hall last year, you’ll understand our excitement for this dish. Similar to the Menudo, it’s a beef stew , but this one is prepared in tomatoes and a peanut sauce.

Pansit

A classic Filipino dish that is made with Canton noodles and fresh vegetables. It was a favourite add-on dish by many at last years Outdoor Food Hall.
