After more than 3 years in business, downtown Windsor restaurant Bread Meats Bread will be closing their doors permanently.

Known for their gourmet sandwiches and gnocchi, Bread Meats Bread will be officially closing it’s doors on January 25, 2020.

Owner David Prantera said in a social media post that “this was a difficult decision”.

Bread MeatsBread will be officially closing it’s doors Jan 25th. This was a difficult decision for George and I to leave the downtown core. In last 3 and a half years we have had some of the greatest challenges as well as some of the most memorable moments of our lives. Our customers have been the heart and soul of our business, seeing you come through our doors on a regular basis and supporting our vision has been an indescribable experience. Many of you have become like family to us, which has by far been our greatest achievement. I would like to thank the people past and present who are trying to make the downtown the place it should be. Their tireless work continually goes unnoticed by many. Finally I would like to thank our staff that has been a part of who we are form day one. A place cannot be great without a great team and we have been very fortunate to always have been surrounded by great people. This is by far not the end of our journey it’s just a detour as we will soon be announcing some exciting new ventures. Meanwhile come by for some great food and drinks we are here till next week. Thanks Dave and George. #closingsoon #dwbia #smallbusiness #supportlocal

He also mentions that while it’s the end of Bread Meats Bread, it’s definitely not the end of his journey in the culinary industry in the region as they’ll  “soon be announcing some exciting new ventures”.

We wish David, Silva and George all the best in all their future endeavours.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to head out to Bread Meats Bread for a farewell meal or two over the next week.
