Vine+Ash has officially opened their doors and the first rush of folks who have dined there are absolutely raving about it.

The Tecumseh, Ontario, restaurant is located within the former Mamo Burger’s Manning Road location (the Ottawa Street Mamo is still open). Ryan Odette has put the apron back on and letting his creativity flow. It’s very much a reminder of the great reputation Ryan built in the kitchen at the long-closed Mamo Bistro.

The restaurant is focused on creative, seasonal dishes that are chef-driven. Here are 3 of our early favourites on their very first menu:

 

OCTOPUS

The octopus is first cooked sous vide before being finished in a charcoal oven. Some of the best octopus we’ve had in the city. Cuts with a butter knife and minimal effort.

 

 

CHICKEN WINGS

The chicken wings on the menu may seem like your every day dish, but they’re not. Vietnamese flavours are the influence with Nuoc Mam caramel, ginger and lemongrass.

 

LAMB RIBS

Another dish cooked inside their charcoal oven. These lamb ribs and cooked to perfection and served up with a preserved lemon yogourt, cucumber and sumac.
