If historical buildings are your thing, Bacchus Ristorante is giving you something extra to enjoy on Tuesday nights after dinner.

The Via Italia restaurant is giving you the opportunity to enjoy the historic Low-Martin House with the purchase of a dinner entree. How does it work?If you purchase an entree after 5:00pm on Tuesdays, you’ll be given entry into the stately manor for a private tour at 8:00pm that same night. It’s a great opportunity to explore and learn about some of the whisky history and why Windsor is known as Whiskytown, Canada.

Originally called the Devonshire Lodge, the house was commissioned by rum runner, Harry Low, in the 1920’s. It played host to a number of infamous guests such as Al Capone and members of the Purple Gang out of Detroit.

The house was eventually sold to Alice Eleanor Martin, wife of Paul Martin Sr., parents of Paul Martin Jr., Canada’s 21st Prime Minister. During their ownership, the house played host to sitting Prime Ministers Lester Pearson and Pierre Trudeau.
