Since they opened in 2018, Souq has been doing a great job broadening a lot of people’s perceptions of Middle Eastern cuisine and flavours.

Their latest menu release has taken that work another step further with some incredibly delicious dishes that we were lucky enough to try. Here are 5 of their new dishes we think you should go try immediately.

This spinach salad includes radishes, walnuts, red onions, feta cheese, strawberries and a strawberry citrus dressing. It’s refreshing, vegetarian and gluten-free.

JWANEH

A Middle Eastern take on a North American classic: chicken wings. They’re served with a honey chili dip that I absolutely loved and was made in-house. Also, much like everything else in the restaurant, it wasn’t fried. You can get them in orders of 5, 10 or 15 wings.

BUFTEK

A grilled, lean beef cutlet that is served with a tasty lemon-garlic sauce that also has molasses in it. It tastes like two complete different dishes when eaten with and without the sauce. Both are amazing.

If you’re looking at eating something a little lighter, this pan baked salmon dish will probably be for you. It’s covered in a dill based tahini gravy, house made honey chili sauce and served with roasted potatoes.

GHAZZAL BANNAT

This dish absolutely blew my mind. Yes, the dish is technically a pistachio ice cream that has a hint of rose water flavour, but, it’s the edible garnish that stole the show. It may look like an animals fur or hair, but, it’s an Arabic cotton candy that melted away in my mouth and not as sweet as a traditional cotton candy.
