Happy International Whisk(e)y Day!
When you live in a city known as Whiskytown Canada, which has such a rich abundance of whisky history and distilled beverages, you don’t need an excuse to celebrate, but, we’ll gladly take one anyways.
So head out by your lonesome or gather some friends and head out to one of these 3 great establishments to enjoy a well-made cocktail:
THE BLIND OWL
Located in downtown Windsor, The Blind Owl is a quaint little bar that you’d pass by if you weren’t looking for it…and what a shame that would be. Mark Dutka and his staff provide impeccable cocktails, with a new weekly feature also created to compliment their menu as well as the classics.
Whisky Tip: “Good Times Hour” is between 4:00pm and 8:00pm from Tuesday through Saturday. That means tasty Old Fashioned or Manhattan cocktails for only $6.
WOLFHEAD DISTILLERY
The first craft distillery to open in the region, Wolfhead Distillery has been making quite the name for themselves as a destination. Along with a bar and tours, they operate a restaurant on site that uses their whisky in some of the dishes.
Whisky Tip: People across Ontario are raving about their Coffee Whisky Liqueur. Grab yourself a bottle or three.
F&B WALKERVILLE
Another small yet spectacular establishment that has been making a name for themselves internationally with their cocktails. Some of F&B‘s staff have been representing Ontario and Canada across the globe in cocktail competitions and doing quite well.
Whisky Tip: Their drink and food menus changes with the seasons. If you’re someone who really likes to try new things, they also feature a new cocktail weekly that are never a disappointment.
