Mezzo Restaurant and Lounge has been a staple in Windsor’s Via Italia for years now and with good reason. The kitchen is consistenly pumping out great Italian food with a nouveau take.
This year, Mezzo will be offering one lunch menu and two dinner menus for those looking to participate in the 2019 Winter Bites Restaurant Week, taking place January 14-20. Here are four dishes that made our taste buds do a little tarantella to.
The classic Italian appetizer: Arancini. Mezzo rolls around some Arborio rice with ground beef, peas, white wine, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. Crispy outside, soft inside.
A perfect appetizer to share with (if you have a guest) or to devour yourself (even if you have a guest). These lightly floured calamari are fried and served with a chipotle aioli.
If you like cheese, you’ll love this stuffed manicotti. It’s loaded with wild mushrooms, goat cheese and ricotta cheese and served in a vodka blush sauce topped with Asiago cheese.
So this dish might not be a classic Italian dish, but, it’s still really yummy. The salmon is Cajun spiced and grilled. It’s then topped with mango chutney and served over top of basmati rice and rapini.
