Mazaar was so excited about their 2019 Winter Bites Restaurant Week menu that they invited us in to sample each and every one of the nine items.
We couldn’t possibly have done that without bragging about it…err…sharing them with you. So, here’s a look at the entire Winter Bites menu from Mazaar in downtown Windsor, Ontario.
ROCCA & BEETS SALAD
Arugula, iceberg lettuce, greens mix, cherry tomatoes and onion, Mazaar’s delicious fattoush dressing, with beetroot spread, and caramelized chickpeas.
Think arancini, but, with a Middle Eastern twist. A cheese-blend ball, herbs and panko, fried and then served with spicy tomato onion sauce and fresh basil.
These bad boys are making a comeback from last years Winter Bites menu. Essentially take a beef shawarma and compact it into three tasty, easier to handle tacos. Side note: this is an appetizer!
Homemade dumplings stuffed with beef sujok and fresh oregano, served with minty yogourt Laban-emmo sauce and truffle oil.
Grilled vegetarian kibbeh filled with ratatouille veggies, kale, spinach and walnut, served with vegan moghrabieh sauce.
This one scored high on the wow scale for me just for the fig that’s rolled perfectly within the chicken breast. There’s also vermicelli, oven cooked, served with frikeh and Mazaar’s house sauce.
CHOCOLATE DATE CAKE
On to the desserts! A chocolate date muffin, topped date ganache, crushed pistachio and walnut.
A traditional Lebanese dairy ice cream with apricot jam and crushed pistachio.
If you’ve been to Mazaar before than you know their signature dessert recipe. A frozen mix of chocolate and waffle, served with whipped cream.
