Planning on heading out to the 2018 Whiskytown Festival? We’ve put together this guide to help you prepare for a great time with great whiskies. The festival takes place on Saturday, August 4 from 6:00pm to 9:30pm. Tickets are available online.

BRING CASH

There is no ATM on site. Please make sure you bring enough cash to purchase additional tokens if you need them. Each token has a value of $1.00. The price of the drinks vary depending on what is being served.

SHORT BUT SWEET

The event is only three and half hours in length. For this first year event, we’ve kept the atmosphere pretty casual. You’ll be able to enjoy a cocktail or sip on whisky while listening to Soul Brother Stef. Our goal is to build on this event in the following years, but for this year we wanted a cozier atmosphere.

ARRIVE EARLY

Since the festival is short and sweet, arrive early so you can get your ticket scanned in and enter the site as quickly as possible and maximize your whisky and cocktail tasting time.

NO RE-ENTRY

Because it’s only a three and a half hour event, there will be no re-entry once you leave the festival grounds.

OUR WHISKY LIST

Be sure to check our ever updating whisky list before and during the festival.

TASTING, NOT BINGING

This event was created to allow you to enjoy a variety of whiskies, so tastings are 0.5 ounces each. We want you to be able to stroll the grounds and taste some amazing blends and possibly find a new favourite whisky.

GARDEN PARTY

It’s going to be a beautiful evening and we hope we’ve created a quaint and cozy atmosphere for you to sip on some great whiskies and enjoy your surroundings. Our idea for this event was to create a garden party atmosphere.

COCKTAILS

F&B Walkerville, Blind Owl, Kavi and Wolfhead Distillery will be making some pretty amazing whisky-based cocktails.

WHISKY+BEER=AWESOME

Walkerville Brewery has done the festival a solid. We’ll be featuring their whisky barrel aged Doppel Bock, which they won’t even be releasing until two weeks after the festival. How cool is that? You’ll be able to try it in 3 ounce samples.

WHISKY ROYALTY

Dr. Don Livermore is in the house! The legend that is the J.P. Wiser’s Master Blender will be on site to mingle and talk whisky all throughout the festival about his creations. The man is a wealth of knowledge and this really is a special treat to be in the presence of what we consider whisky royalty.

EAT WHISKY

The whisky doesn’t stop at the food. Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co. will be serving up their Irish Boiler Maker which has whisky as one of its main ingredients. He’ll also have a vegan option of pulled jackfruit that’s smoked with whisky barrel wood. Mmmm mmm!!

LEARN ABOUT WHISKYTOWN, CANADA

Authors Elaine Weeks and Chris Edwards will be in attendance with a display of historic Walkerville items. They’ll be discussing Old Walkerville’s history and will be doing a book signing of their book “Walkerville – Whisky Town Extraordinaire”. They are offering the limited edition book at half price during the event.

LIMITED & LOVING IT

Some of the higher end whiskies will be limited in quantity, so we suggest planning your tastings accordingly. One they’re done, they’re done…unless you go out yourself and buy a $300 bottle.
