The RyeGate to Host A 6-Course Wine Tasting Dinner On October 26, 2011

You better save your appetite because on October 26, 2011, The RyeGate will be serving up a feast.

The Tecumseh restaurant will be hosting a 6-course Wine Tasting Dinner. Tickets are $70 per person and must be purchased in advance. Dinner begins at 7:00pm.

Here is a peek at the delicious menu to be served that evening:

Course 1 – Scallop and Lychee Seviche
Paired with Late Harvest Vidal, Pelee Island Winery
Delicate scallops and sweet lychee marinated in lime juice, ginger and garlic with a brunoise of red pepper and chive

Course 2 – Think Pink Soup and Salad
Paired with Villa Chopris, Sauvignon Blanc
Peppery baby arugula leaves tossed with sweet red onions in blood orange vinaigrette, accompanied by a tasting of honey-beet puree lifted with crème fraiche and garnished with crispy beet mixels

Course 3 – Poached Pacific Salmon
Paired with Chardonnay
Gently poached in a broth of La Crema Chardonnay and set in a pool of creamed leeks and drizzled with an elegant chardonnay reduction

Course 4 – Balsamic Glazed Baby Lamb Chop
Paired with Angels Gate Meritage & Sterpato
Seared baby lamb chop, glazed with reduced balsamic vinegar and fine herbs. Partnered with spears of marinated asparagus

Course 5 – Mascarpone and Grapefruit Quenelles
Paired with Pillitteri Estate Vidal Ice Wine
Exquisite mascarpone cheese drizzled with honey paired with grapefruit segments marinated in 99 Vines Chardonnay
