This intriguing wine is actually a blend of CREW‘s 2007 Riesling and our 2007 Merlot. It resembles a dark rosé in colour but exhibits more depth and tannic structure than a typical rose. While the aroma is perfumed and slightly sweet, the finish of this wine is quite crisp and dry. Upon tasting, sour cherry flavours envelop the palate finishing with a refreshing orange zest.

This is an excellent pair with turkey dinners. It has enough “Oomph!” to stand up to savoury dishes such as stuffing and compliments the tang of the cranberry sauce while not overwhelming the turkey. It is also very nice with blue cheese. Try it with a gourmet burger topped with Gorgonzola and sprouts.

The name comes from the old nautical saying “Red sky at night, sailors’ delight; red sky at morning, sailors take warning!” We aim for the lovely days that generally follow a beautiful red sunset.

The bottle retails for $14.00 and is a (0) on the sweetness scale.
