Monaco Falafel Appetizer
Monaco Falafel Appetizer

The other week, some of us local bloggers got together for our monthly blog meet up. Our September location was Monaco Fusion Grille Mediterraneen in South Windsor.

With the trio of Pina, Jillian and I a tad bit hungry, we ordered some eats from the menu.

Pina and Jill ordered the shawarma plate while I opted for the kabob plate. Unlike the “fast food” shawarmas many of you may be familiar with, these were to be assembled by yourself. A pile of overflowing sliced chicken, sliced beets, a tasty garlic spread and pita slices arranged on the plate for you to put as much, or as little, as you like with each serving.

We also made an appetizer order each of fried kibbeh and falafel. The three of us all opted for rice and the Monaco house salad with our dishes.

Given the choice of any combination of chicken, beef or kafta, I went with one chicken and one beef. The plate was excellent. The beef was nice, tendy and juicy. It was served with pita slices which I was able to fill up with my rice and roasted vegetables which included onions and green, red and orange peppers.

Pina and Jillian were both very happy with their shawarmas. I managed to sneak some of the beets off of Jillian’s plate before they were gone. I love those things!

We recommend you check out Monaco. Tell them WindsorEats sent you!
