A new soul food and dessert shop is opening up in Downtown Windsor this weekend, but, it’ll have a familiar look and taste.
At 711 Pelissier in Downtown Windosr, The Weatherspoons is the new location and official combination of businesses from husband and wife duo, Patrick and Jarmina Weatherspoon. Many of you will know Jarmina from Spoontastic Treats on Erie Street East across the street from the WindsorEats Food Hall and Partick from Soul by Mr. Spoon., cooking his ribs and chicken outside Spoontastic.
Well, on Friday, March 1, 2024, they’ll be opening up their new location and business, The Weatherspoons, which will combine everything you loved about both their businesses. The soul food, lounge, and desserts cafe will be open until midnight and 3am on Fridays and Saturdays .
For those that aren’t familiar, Patrick’s authentic, down south flavours featuring meats grilled over charcoal were the food of choice whenever celebrities like Fetty Wap, Rich The Kid, Buddy Guy, Autumn Kings and many more came to town.
Spoontastic Treats will continue to offer some great handcrafted desserts featuring chocolate covered strawberries, cake cups and no-bake cheesecake parfaits.
If you can’t make opening day, don’t worry as they’ll have plenty of other events coming up this month, including a Bridging the Gap Comedy Show by Petty Productions with comics from Windsor, Detroit, and Toronto.
