Smoked meat lovers rejoice! The Border City BBQ Masters’ “Pulled Pork Pig Out & BBQ Competition” takes place
Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 11am to 5pm at The Windsor Sportsmen’s Club (2401 Dougall Avenue).
Two of Essex County’s most popular BBQ joints, Beattie’s BBQ and The Springwell Pub, will be serving up some of
their signature dishes to the public, while aspiring pit masters compete to see who has the best chicken wings and
pulled pork.
The all-ages event will also feature live performances by Max Marshall and Lost and Found, as well as a bbq
masters’ market featuring a variety of local vendors.
Admission to the event is “Donate What You CAN”, with canned goods and monetary donations begin accepted for
Feed the Need Windsor.
The event is the group’s fifth in just over a year and organizers are excited to once again bring together the
region’s ever-growing community of barbecue enthusiasts.
“We’re really excited to have these two amazing barbecue joints join us from Lasalle,” says organizer Derek Sly
‘The BBQ Guy.’ “It’s the first time having them in the city and it’s a chance to have folks here experience what they
have to offer.”
