Just in case you haven’t heard, the WindsorEats Street Food Fare is taking place this Friday, May 17, 2019.
The Street Food Fare has become a popular event that is focused solely on great street food. Last year, over 3000 people attended, helping our vendors sell out of pretty much everything.
This year, we’re bringing more vendors, more food, and more awesomeness. We’ll be serving Walkerville Brewery‘s Honest Lager as well as their Argyle Cider.
Here’s a look at some of the treats you’ll be able to dig into:
MEXICAN STREET CORN
We’re bringing back our street corn this year! Last year, people loved them so much we sold out of cobs of corn. This year, we’re bringing more to
BUTTER CHICKEN CONE
We broke the news about this new creation we’re serving up at Street Food Fare a few days ago. Based off the respond we received, chef Rob Nesbitt is going to be busy busy busy pumping these out.
F&B will be on site doing one thing and doing it well: shucked P.E.I. oysters. They’ll be shucking all day and night and serving the oysters with some mignonettes.
The Grand Cantina
The Grand Cantina is bringing their tacos back for another round of the Street Food Fare. You’ll be able to choose from barbacoa (slow roasted
beef), carnitas (smoked pulled pork) and vegan chorizo. They’ll also have chips with guacamole and their house smoked tomatillo salsa.
We wrote about El Comal before, now you’ll get to taste them right here in Windsor. In particular, their pupusas.
Road Chef‘s mozza bombs are a thing of legend in the region. So absolutely jammed with mozzarella that we were able to stretch one out to almost 3 metres once.
SHAVED PRIME RIB
Bradt’s Butcher Block
Bradt’s Butcher Block is coming from Leamington to show you how good their aged prime rib is. They’ll be serving it shaved on a crusty roll with caramelized onions and your choice of aioli.
COOKIES ‘N CREAM SUNDAE
Riverside Pie Cafe
Dessert is served! This Cookies n’ Cream “sundae” pop from Riverside Pie Cafe is a vanilla bean cream pop dipped in chocolate and dusted with Oreo crumble. Did we mention it’s made with Kawartha Dairy cream?
Mezzo Restaurant & Lounge
Mezzo Restaurant, the Via Italia mainstay, will be serving up tasty lamb chops. Just think of them as scrumptious meat lollipops.
Little Foot Foods
It doesn’t matter what flavours they serve up, Little Foot Foods pierogies are some of the best you’ll ever have.
SLUM DOG MILLIONAIRE NACHOS
The Grove Brew House
These are the type of food ideas that are concocted after a night drinking…and we love it! They’re Doritos, pulled chicken, white cheddar, butter chicken sauce, diced tomatoes and onions, curried sour cream and green onions. Oh ya!
THE FROSTY PINEAPPLE
The Frosty Pineapple
The temperatures are starting to rise and the perfect treat to celebrate are gourmet ice pops. The Frosty Pineapple makes a variety of flavours, but, we also get lured in by the cherry.
Bread Meats Bread
How can you resist a pair of meaty balls? These oversized meatballs are covered with Nonna’s tomato sauce and Romano cheese.
ROBBIE’S GOURMET SAUSAGE CO.
Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co.
Robbie himself says this is one of the best sausages he has ever made. He’ll be serving it topped with Salsa con queso, green pepper confetti and fried onions.
