The Windsor, Ontario brewing scene was represented well last weekend at the Canadian Brewing Awards in Halifax, Nova Scotia, winning several awards.

Local breweries took home a total of six medals in a strong showing with Walkerville Brewery leading the way with 3 medals, including gold in the European Style Lager (Pilsner) category for their Purity Pilsner.

Walkerville Brewery was also awarded two silvers, one fortheir Kremlin Russian Imperial Stout in the Imperial Stout category and another for their Walkerville Barrel Aged Russian Imperial Stout in the Wood and Barrel-Aged Strong Beer category.

A case may also have been made for Windsor being the best place in Canada to get a lager. Frank Brewing won silver in the North American Style Premium Lager category for their Frank’s Cream Ale while Kingsville brewery, The Grove Brew House, took home a bronze for their Paradise Lager.

The Grove Brew House also silver in the Cream Ale category for their Westcott Cream Ale.

A huge congratulations to the breweries and their brewers for all the hard work they put into making some great beers and helping put the Windsor region on the map.
