Oooo wee! It’s cold outside!

Everyone needs a good dish to warm themselves up during winter, so we recently visited Spoon Ramen and found these 4 dishes perfect for overcoming a cold winter chill and warming your bones.

Beef Tataki

Lt’s start off with the fact this is a dish that isn’t served warm. So, why did we include it on this list? It was too darn good not to!

The first thing that sticks out about this dish is the absolutely beautiful colours, both of the beef and the dishware. For those that are unfamiliar with it, beef tataki is fillet beef that is very lightly seared, marinated, sliced thin. Spoon sprinkles some sesame seeds as well as places an egg to break over top the beef. Delicious, indeed!

Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu Ramen

Their signature dish. If you were only ever allowed to eat one dish at Spoon, this should be it. Traditionally, the broth Tonkotsu ramen is milky white from the boiling of the pork bones and fat over many, many hours. The black garlic oil truly, however, takes this dish to a completely new ramen level on the flavour scale and turns the broth a beautiful jet black.

Inferno Ramen

Some like it hot and with a name like inferno, this dish doesn’t disappoint. The bright orange colour of the broth just screams heat and the burst of flavours that pop won’t disappoint. Perfect warmer upper during a bitterly cold arctic blast.

Gyudon

If you’re looking to tame a wild appetite, this may be the dish to order. There’s no shortage of beef in this overflowing bowl. Once again, the egg on top will provide a lovely creamy texture and flavour once mixed in.
