We’re almost positive we picked up that quote from an issue of National Geographic or we just made it up ourselves. Either way, bacon lovers should be ecstatic to know that The City Grill‘s Baconfest begins today and runs through to March 15, 2015.
A special menu will be offered consisting of bacon inspired dishes to choose from and allows you three courses for only $40:
Starters (your choice of)
Pulled Bacon Wonton Tacos – apple bacon slaw, lime vinaigrette, cilantro.
Bacon N’ Egg – pastry wrapped egg, maple pork belly, calvados reduction, warm bread.
Potato Bacon Soup – bacon croquette, baconnaise
Mains (your choice of)
Soy Kalbi Pork Shoulder – smoked belly, rice noodles, soy-dashi broth, Asian vegetables
Bacon, Date & Goat Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breast – bacon wrapped polenta, vegetable strudel
Bacon Wraped Bacon Burger – chorizo sausage, ground chuck, cajun mayo, fresh pear, candied bacon
Ravioli Carbonara – bacon, caramelized onion, ricotta, soft yolk, spinach, cherry tomato
Desserts (your choice of)
Bacon-Apple Tarte Tatin – bacon ice cream
Chocolate Covered Bacon Lollipop – pop rocks
If three courses is too much food for you, you can also order the dishes individually. Guests can also dive right into theme by imbibing the theme with bacon cocktails (or Swinetails as The City Grill is calling them) including:
Fizzy Piggy – bacon infused bourbon, orange juice, club soda
Hot Swine – bacon infused bourbon, maple syrup sriracha
