All of August there will be 6 new burgers featured at The City Grill to celebrate their Burger Month. From a Mexican Chorizo & Shrimp burger to an Ultimate Stuffed Burger with foie gras, you’ll love the flavours offered by chef Shawn McKerness.

Drinks of Walkerville Walking Tour
On Saturday, August 2, our Drinks of Walkerville walking tour will celebrate what is unique and exceptional about where we live. Windsor has a vibrant and colourful history along an international border that many have no knowledge of. With a resurgence of interest in the Canadian Club brand through hit television programs Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire, guests can learn all about a history of smuggling and gangsters during prohibition from a uniquely Canadian perspective.
Guests jaunt through historic Old Walkerville, the town that Canadian Club built, and learn about its architecture as well as some well known and not so well known tales and folklore associated with the neighbourhood, including its rich rum running history and visits by Al Capone. You can even touch a bullet hole purported to have been shot by Al himself.
You’ll walk through the hallways of the Canadian Club Brand Centre, home of Canadian Club whiskey, which was made popular again through acclaimed television programs Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire,and be brought through the history and brewing process of Walkerville Brewery. All this before finishing off the tour discovering the street art at The Willistead Restaurant.

Downtown Windsor Farmers Market
A hotbed of activity every Saturday morning, make a visit to the Downtown Windsor Farmers Market. Visit Anchor Coffee House for their amazing Lemon Iced Tea or Strawberry Rhubarb Lemonade, or pick up a loaf of bread from Blak’s Bakery and a bottle of wine from Oxley Estate Winery. We even recommend picking up some sausages for the grill from Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co. Our newest member, The Little White Kitchen will also be there selling gluten free baguettes!
Not only is it great for grocery shopping and supporting local, but it’s also great for socializing, too!
Self-Guided Wine Trail Ride
This summer WindsorEats will be offering bicycles for rent at North 42 Degrees Estate Winery and Serenity Lavender Farm, located at 130 Cty Rd 50 East, in Colchester, offering the chance to cycle along Lake Erie’s north shore each and every day on self-guided bike tours.
Leave your car at North 42 Degrees Estate Winery, rent a bicycle and ride along the shore. We’ll provide you with a map and suggestions for unique points of interest along the way.
Cycle the shore! It’s really the best way to enjoy our region.
Our hybrid cruisers are the perfect way to explore County Road 50, the surrounding wineries, the Lake Erie shore, and all the great activities taking place along it. Each bicycle has a basket in the front to make it easier to carry your local purchases.

The best part of the self-guided tours? You can also rent a Picnic Carrier! Let us prepare a few tasty treats for you to take on your adventure. Visit Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery each and every Sunday to enjoy live entertainment on the lawn overlooking beautiful Lake Erie. All music will be enjoyed on the front lawn to enjoy the incredible views that Sprucewood has to offer. Enjoy delicious food prepared by a different chef every week from 1:00pm to 4:00pm. Sip on a glass of wine or their signature sangrias with a delicious Sprucewood picnic basket lunch and soak in the music and lakefront view.
Sunday Funday at Il Cavallino
On Sunday, August 3, 2014, join Club Il Cavallino for a family oriented Sunday Funday.
The event is from 10:00am to 4:00pm and will be a day of fun in the sun with activities for kids of all ages including:
- Power Wheels rides and miniature car races
- Face painting and bouncy castle
- Learn all about cars, safety and automobile maintenance
- Exotic car show
- Yummy food and snacks
- and much more!
Cost is $5 per person with one free adult admission for every child pass purchased. The proceeds of the event are to benefit The Safety Village.
