Beer samples lined up on our Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour

While Mother Nature threatened rain, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.

Our Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour today was a blast. The amount of food and drink can only be described as gluttonous. Here is how our day went:

  • We first stopped at Sweet T’s Soul Cookin’ where we sampled Mill Street Organic as well as their famous Chicken and Waffle, with a side of smoked maple syrup. We were given a special tour of the ‘smoker room’ and Ryan Odette, owner of Sweet T’s and Smoke & Spice, gave us some inside info on how the restaurant operates.
  • After zipping on over to our next stop, Motor Burger, we sampled 3 of their in-house ales, including 2 that were launched just for our ride: their staple Model A, Big Block Brown and Rider Cream Ale. We were also given a private and special tour through their kitchen and into their brewing room.
  • We then made the trek on the Riverfront Trail to Rock Bottom where we sampled: Erdinger, Delirium Tremens, Fruli and Stiegl. These beers were drank alongside a smorgasbord of eat that included more than enough food than we knew what to do with.

For all those that are upset and/or jealous that they missed out, fear not! We have another Bikes & Beers Cycling Tour scheduled for September 8, 2012. There’s also a special treat on this ride as when we arrive at Rock Bottom for our final stop, the entire Sandwich Town neighbourhood will be closed off as they celebrate the Sandwich Town Festival, complete with live entertainment and extended patios. Tickets are $60 and can be purchased here.

If beer isn’t your thing or you just can’t wait that long to see us, join us on our August 18, 2012 Wine Trail Ride cycling tours. We’ll be visiting North 42 Estate Winery, Klassen Blueberries and Erie Shore Vineyards. Tickets for this ride are $50 per person and include a locally sourced dinner. Tickets can be purchased here.
