With an enticing nose of black cherry, strawberry and some lovely toasty oak, Colchester Ridge Estate Winery‘s 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon entices you. Initially, its burst of fruitiness tricks the mouth into thinking it is sweet, however, the finish is satisfyingly dry and ever so slightly fruit forward. This makes for a Cabernet Sauvignon that is a great wine not only for dinner but on its own as well.

Wine maker, Bernard Gorski, takes great pride in his Cabernet Sauvignons. He not only received a gold medal for this particular wine at the 2009 All Canadian Wine Championships in the category Cabernet Sauvignons under $25.00, but, his 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve also won a silver medal in the category Cabernet Sauvignons in the over $25.00 category.

This particular wine offers a fuller mouth feel and bright flavours. We enjoy this with a dinner that has some substance. Fall/winter is a perfect time for hearty meals paired with this warming wine.
