Across Lanspeary Park, along the booming Ottawa Street corridor, Per Bacco Ristorante and Lounge, 1199 Ottawa Street, invites you in to savour delicious food in a cozy and relaxing atmosphere.

Calamari

Since starting with Per Bacco in February Chef Dominic DiBartolomeo has made quite a few changes to the menu.  As owner, Ennio Sperdutti explains, it’s “Italian cooking with a French flair.”

Not overly complicated, the lunch menu is short and to the point.  Antipasti, Soup, Pastas and Panini and as an added twist you can even give their risotto of the day a try.  If you’re on a time crunch for lunch, staff are accommodating and will ensure that you are served in a prompt and timely manner.

Arancini

Per Bacco is bringing Italian cuisine back to the basics.  With fresh baked bread and homemade pasta noodles all made in house, it’s what Italian cooking is all about.

“We are really known for our lasagna,” says Ennio.  “It’s my mom’s recipe.  It is layered homemade noodles with ground pork and beef, mushrooms, tomato sauce and a blend of cheeses.”

Aside from the popular Lasagna di Sora, lunch items also include Insalata con Bietola Arrostito, a roasted beet and frisee lettuce topped with crispy pancetta and goat cheese in a balsamic vinaigrette; Melanzane Farcite, eggplants stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese then oven baked with tomato sauce; as well as a variety of Panini.   A favourite on the Panini list is the Focaccia con Angnello: thin slices of lamb with melted mozzarella cheese and finished in a demi-glaze sauce between focaccia bread.

Per Bacco offers a relaxing atmosphere for lunch and all items are reasonably priced.  In addition to their spacious first floor dining and lounge area, Per Bacco’s second floor has a banquet room that can cater up to 80 people for any special occasion or business meeting.

Per Bacco Ristorante and Lounge is open Monday to Friday, 11:30am to 2:30 pm for lunch and 5:00pm to 9pm for dinner.  On Fridays dinner is from 5pm to 10pm, Saturdays from 5pm to 10pm and Sundays from 4pm to 9pm.  For more information and to view their menu, click here.
