Everyone knows Windsor and Essex County has some of the best pizza in Canada. So i’s no surprise to find out that there is one more great pizza place to add to the list. Johnny Piez Gourmet Pizza is located at 3839 Dougall Avenue on the corner of Cabana Road in South Windsor.

But Johnny Piez ain’t your regular pizza joint. Featuring Windsor’s only “Take N’ Bake” concept, you can pick up an uncooked pizza, made just the way you like it, ready to bake in your own home oven. Forget about those frozen pizzas you pick up at the grocers. These pizzas are nothing like that. Pop one in the oven and in less than 30 minutes you have a pizza that is fresh, evenly baked and delicious.

“It’s not like your frozen pizza,” explains Senol Eskici, who co-owns Johnny Piez with John Pizzo and Andre Gerardi. “It actually comes out of your own oven like you’ve baked it in a stone oven.”

Choose from one of their signature pizzas such as Sicilian, Rustico or Margherita or create your own from the multitude of toppings laid out before you. Then watch as Senol works his magic, kneading and shaping the dough and layering on topping after topping. Johnny Piez goes beyond pizza.

It is perfect option for lunch with items such as BBQ Chicken sandwich with marinated chicken breast and mozzarella cheese served on an oven toasted panini bun or a Walnut and Goat Cheese Salad topped with dried cranberries, candied walnuts and goat cheese over a bed of mixed spring greens. But if you are craving a slice or two, they also offer pizza by the slice.

While Johnny Piez specializes in both raw and cooked gourmet pizzas their menu offers a variety of choices whether you’re stopping in for a quick bite to eat on your lunch or heading home after work and need to pick up a meal for the family. Their Grab and Go counter features salads made fresh daily and items such as lasagna and penne with Portobello and chicken.
