Well it’s the end of the year and it’s hard not to reflect on what’s been going on for the past 12 months in preparation for the next 12. Often times, life creates a whirlwind of activity around you and it’s often easy to forget to stop for a moment and reflect.
This year has been a wonderful, fun filled, roller coaster kind of year for us. And we loved every minute of it!
It all started way back in February when WindsorEats won a national award
for the Best Local Blog in Canada. It was a great opportunity to put Essex County on the map and let the rest of the nation know that there are great things happening here.
In July, we introduced the first of our Wine Trail Rides. Never would I have thought that our Wine Trail Rides would have struck such a chord in people! Between 50-70 people participated in each ride and we’re already busy planning for the next ones in 2009.
Being nominated for a BizX award was pretty great. Winning the award for Best Online Local Biz was even better! Adriano and I took the whole family out to the awards presentation to celebrate with us.
WindsorEats was highlighted in a number of publications and sites including FoodCandy, we had interviews on AM800, CJAM, Windsor Star and even published our own articles in BizX Magazine.
Last month we introduced our first webisode. It was a lot of fun and gives us the opportunity to highlight a few of the great events that take place in our community. We even put a call out to local musicians and put their music in the webisodes.
2009 is going to be even better! WindsorEats will be celebrating 5 years and we have lots of plans in the works and can’t wait to tell everyone about them!
It’s always important to celebrate the successes in our city and point out the good things that are happening here. Because there are many. We like to think that WindsorEats is a small part of those good things.
