Kingsville is having a party this Sunday and everyone is invited!  It’s the Community Spirit Rally for Hockeyville 2008! If you haven’t heard Kingsville is in the running to be named Kraft Hockeyville and they are celebrating!

There is going to be a ton of activities for everyone to enjoy! The rally starts off bright and early at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake breakfast. But it doesn’t stop there…there are so many activities planned that lead up to the big CBC annoucement at 7pm on Sunday, February 17th.

Here’s a bit of info about the event from the Kingsville website:

Over the past two years, communities across Canada have confirmed their powerful connection to hockey through their passionate involvement with Kraft Hockeyville. Kraft Canada – together with the CBC, the National Hockey League (NHL) and the NHL Player’s Association (NHLPA)  is searching for the community that best embodies the spirit of hockey and hometown pride.

The Kingsville Recreation Complex is supporting the exciting program to be named Kraft Hockeyville 2008.

The idea to nominate the Kingsville Recreation Complex came from one of our hockey parents that supported the Kingsville Minor Hockey program. The Town of Kingsville encouraged the rest of the community to help recognize our arena complex.

The Town of Kingsville recognizes the importance of our arena and recreation complex to the residents of Kingsville either as a facility for participating in hockey or figure skating or a place to meet up with friends and families. The passion for hockey and our community spirit can be found at the Kingsville Recreation Complex every day of the year!

The stakes are high and the winning community receives $100,000 towards arena upgrades and renovations,  plus a CBC Hockey Night In Canada broadcast and a NHL pre-season game.

So everyone head out to Kingsville this Sunday to show your support and come watch the annoucement on an outdoor jumbo screen. Good luck Kingsville!! We’re rooting for you!
