On December 25th Mezzo Ristorante is hosting their annual 14th Annual Christmas Day luncheon for those in need. The luncheon takes place on Christmas Day between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. No pre registration is required. If you’re alone, on the streets or just looking for a hot meal and company, Mezzo Ristorante welcomes you.
In those 14 years they have served over 2,000 hot meals to those who need it most.
“We serve 150 to 200 people every year,” says Fil Rocca, owner. “Any left over food and gifts we provide to other organizations. We bring the toys to the paediatrics unit at the hospital and food to different shelters in town.”
As part of the luncheon, they provide gifts to those that attend ensureing everone leaves with a gift. If you would like to help out consider donating new/used books, toys, scarves, gloves and hats.
Items can be dropped off during the following Holiday hours this week:
- December 19th-21st: 11:30am – 9:00pm
- December 22nd & 23rd: 11:30am – 10:00pm
- December 24th: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (restaurant is open for gift certificates sales only)
Exact ages of those attending are not known so they are asking that gifts are not wrapped so guests can choose a few items to take with them as they leave.
