It’s the Summer of George! Ok, maybe not quite, but, with the popular Art in the Park festival taking place this weekend it does signal the unofficial start to festival season in Windsor, Ontario.
Friday Night Lights
This free, bi-weekly pub crawl by bike is a can’t miss. The Friday, June 3, 2016 ride will depart at 8:00pm from Lanspeary Park, just blocks from Art in the Park. Stops on the ride will include Enzo’s, The Loose Goose and The Bourbon.
The last ride had over 100 riders who had their bikes decked out in colourful LED’s to light up the night as we rolled through the streets of Windsor. Fear not. If you don’t have any lights you’re still more than welcome to join in on the fun.
Drinks of Walkerville
If you’re already in Walkerville for Art in the Park on Saturday, just walk over a few blocks and take in a Drinks of Walkerville walking tour. Named an Ontario Signature Experience, guests will take in the history (and tastes) of the town Hiram Walker built with stops to the historic Canadian Club Brand Centre, Walkerville Brewery and The Willistead restaurant. Tickets must be purchased in advance.
Sampling whisky, beer and bourbon while exploring the town that Hiram Walker built. Does it get any better?
Truckin’ Good Food Series
What goes well with good art? Great food! Let’s be serious, great food goes well with everything. The first Truckin’ Good Food event of the season takes place this Sunday, June 5 at Lanspeary Park from 11:00am to 6:00pm or when food runs out. Participating trucks include Road Chef, Blackjack Gastrovan, Butchers on the Block, Sue’s Taco Shack and more.
If you’ve never been to a food truck event before, we suggest reading these rules of food truck etiquette to enhance your experience.
