Describing it in the most simple way possible, Friday Night Lights is a pub and grub crawl on two wheels throughout the city of Windsor. We encourage guests to deck out their bikes in bright lights to light up the night and enjoy the company of good folks and the flavours of three great establishments.

Our October 2 ride will begin at Jackson Park and visit Craft Heads Brewing Co. /Terra Cotta Gourmet Pizzeria for some good beer and pizza, House of Pong for some crazy ping pong action and Motor Burger, who will be serving up special sliders to pair with their beers just for us!

Riders meet at 7:30pm and the ride departs at 8:00pm.

For all those using social media, we encourage the use of the hashtags #followthelamp and #windsoreats on the ride. Why? Oh, no reason…

Even Hiram Walker makes an appearance on the tour!
Even Hiram Walker makes an appearance on the tour!

Come see for yourself why the Drinks of Walkerville was chosen as an Ontario Signature Experience! Windsor has a vibrant and colourful history along an international border that many have no knowledge of. With a resurgence of interest in the Canadian Club brand through hit television programs Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire, guests can learn all about a history of smuggling and gangsters during prohibition from a uniquely Canadian perspective.

Guests jaunt through historic Old Walkerville, the town that Canadian Club built, and learn about its architecture as well as some well known and not so well known tales and folklore associated with the neighbourhood, including its rich rum running history and visits by Al Capone. You can even touch a bullet hole purported to have been shot by Al himself.

Fancy a drink, Hiram?

You’ll walk through the hallways of the Canadian Club Brand Centre, home of Canadian Club whiskey, which was made popular again through acclaimed television programs Mad Men and Boardwalk Empire, and be brought through the history and brewing process of Walkerville Brewery. All this before finishing off the tour discovering the street art at The Willistead Restaurant. Tickets are $50 per person and well worth it. Our October 3 tour is almost sold out so be sure to get your tickets now!

Windsor Craft Beer Festival October 16-17, 2015

Windsor Craft Beer Festival takes place October 16-17, 2015
Windsor Craft Beer Festival takes place October 16-17, 2015

Let’s raise a glass together for the region’s original festival dedicated to craft beer!

Local and craft brewers from across the province will participate in a festival that will celebrate a much loved libation. Rather than holding the event in a plaza, we are opting for a good ol’ fashion neighbourhood party. The Windsor Craft Beer Festival is hosted by WindsorEats and Motor Craft Ales and will take place in historic Willistead Park.

The event is about local culture and the burgeoning craft beer movement happening across the province. There will be entertainment, craft beers from across the province, local eats and throughout the day we’ll have an ode to the brew. It’s going to be awesome!

It's going to be a jolly good time!
It’s going to be a jolly good time!

While Hiram Walker is famous for distilling whiskey, many don’t know he also brewed beer from 1885-1956. Walker purchased the most modern brewing equipment of the day and shipped hops from the U.S. and his own farms in Essex County. Rich in history and character, there is no better neighbourhood than Old Walkerville to have a beer festival.

Breweries across the province such as Side Launch, Barnstormer Brewing, Great Lakes Brewery and Beau’s, as well as locals like Craft Heads Brewing Co. and Brew, and many more will be serving their brews while Robbie’s Gourmet Sausages, Road Chef and others will be helping fill the rest of your belly with good eats.

Windsor Craft Beer Festival adds to the region’s festivals and helps us in establishing Windsor-Essex as a culinary destination.

Did we mention there’s beer?

Tickets are only available online for advance purchase at $25 each. If tickets do not sell out, they will be available at the door for $40. For more information or to purchase tickets and view a complete list of vendors visit www.windsorbeerfestival.com.

You can also use and follow the hashtag #WCBF2015 on Twitter and Instagram.
