WindsorEats’ Truckin’ Good Food Rally
We at WindsorEats think food trucks are a pretty awesome thing, so we’re hosting an event dedicated to them!
From September 26-27, visit us at Assumption Park in the Odette Sculpture Garden for some good, mothertruckin’ eats! There will be plenty else to do before, during or after you’ve eaten your food. You can stroll through the sculpture garden and taken in the w.a.v.e.s. Festival taking place (the food truck rally is our contribution to this festival), sit and relax while enjoying the beautiful skyline along the riverfront, or you can even join us for our free Friday Night Lights bike ride on September 26 which will be making a stop at the Truckin’ Good Food Rally.
This event is in support of a food truck culture within the City of Windsor, so if you’d like to see more food trucks around please be sure to visit and show your support by eating!
The Truckin’ Good Food Rally will be a free event and open to all ages. Trucks will be ready to serve from 4:00pm to 11:00pm on Friday and Saturday from 11:00am until 11:00pm.
Friday Night Lights Free Bike Ride
Our free Friday Night Lights ride is scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2014, with riders meeting up at 8:30pm in front of the Walkerville Night Market. We will take guests out on the town to explore the night life in Windsor. The catch: since it’s a night ride you’ll need lights on your bike. The more lights the better!
All you’ll need is a simple bike light to make yourself seen at night. If you don’t have any lights for your bike, we’ll also have bikes available for rent with special lighting to light up the night with designs and colours to make every passerby turn and see.
Starting point will be at the Walkerville Night Market. We encourage everyone to get there early and do some grocery shopping prior to the ride. All purchases can be stored at the market until we return.
We’ll be making stops at the WindsorEats’ Truckin’ Good Food Rally and The Squirrel Cage.
To support local businesses, we’ll be making two stops along the route for those who want to purchase beverages or a bite to eat.
Walkerville Night Market
Since it is the starting and ending point of the free Friday Night Lights bike ride, you might as well arrive early and take advantage of the Walkerville Night Market on Friday, September 26. The Night Market is a community market promoting the hip and historic Walkerville neighbourhood, bringing people together with local business, musicians and artists.
The Walkerville Night Market will be located in the popular, The Willistead Restaurant parking lot and includes vendors like Robbie’s Gourmet Sausage Co., Brandner Farms and others.
In conjunction with Culture Days 2014, The City of Windsor’s Recreation and Culture Department welcomes a brand new festival for 2014 in Windsor’s Sculpture Park.
Windsor’s Artists, Visions, Energies and Sculptures w.a.v.e.s. 2014 reaches the shoreline September 26-27.
Experience waves of creativity and innovation from emerging, local and national acts that will transform the riverfront through digital, kinetic and interactive installations, including live musical performance from 4 p.m. – 11 p.m. Stay and help us light up the night with your own glowing gear and fashion with mesmerizing audio-visual performances from Kero & Annie Hall, Friday at 10 p.m. and The Noise Border Ensemble, Saturday @ 10 p.m.
