We are one lucky region. Not only do we live in a great city, but we are within driving distance to some of this province’s outstanding towns and communities.

Visit Kingsville and you’ll fall in love with their history, Victorian era architecture, quaint shops and good eatin’. Take a walk to Main Street and you’ll find two outstanding restaurants that each offer a wonderful dining experience.

Koi Sushi and Japanese Cuisine, 16 Main Street West, is a taste of Japan in the heart of Kingsville. Aside from traditional sushi options like rolls and sashimi, Koi also offers a selection of Japanese entrees. Shabu Shabu is a traditional Japanese beef fondue served with thinly sliced beef sirloin, vegetables and udon noodles prepared in a broth. Or try their Panko Chicken drizzled with orange sauce and served with vegetables and steamed rice.

Right across the street from Koi Sushi you’ll find Mephisto’s Grill and Lounge, 15 Main Street West.

Mephisto’s is also one of a growing number of restaurants in the region that are taking advantage of local farmers and agriculture by making it a focus on their menu. The Local Menu Fare is served after 4.30 p.m. and highlights Essex County’s agricultural goodness. Seasonal fruits and vegetables, local meats and fish are incorporated into the menu which offers items like Lake Erie pickerel with a chili lime butter and local pork loin chops with a smoked Leamington Roma tomato butter.

Along with being able to host private events for up to 75 people within the restaurant, Mephisto can also cater offsite. Head to Mephisto’s on a Thursday night and you can enjoy dinner or have a cocktail in the lounge and be treated to an evening of live music.

Just off the beaten path you’ll find Jack’s GastroPub and Inn31, 31 Division St. South, a trendy GastroPub offering a unique menu designed to compliment local produce, wines and craft beers. Try any of their burgers.  Trust me, you won’t be disappointed.  And if you are planning a quick getaway, well….look no further.  Housed in a turn of the century historic home, the 2nd floor offers 3 boutique style guest rooms as part of Inn 31.

Three great dining options that each provide a unique experience.  And you don’t have to travel for to get it!
